Midnight Blues

Midnight Blues

I'm pushing through this week keeping in mind that the holiday weekend is so close I can almost taste it. Speaking of tasting it is the season to indulge and I have certainly been eating everything in site lately, forgetting that this time next week I’ll be wearing a bikini..oops! It is also the season to shop till you drop for those last minute holiday gifts for your loved ones. I personally prefer to shop in open air centres like the Grove or the retail streets like Rodeo Drive than the traditional malls. Sure it involves a bit more running around but with LA weather still very mild and sunny during the day and the spectacular festive decor on display really gets me into the festive spirit!

Rodeo Drive made for the perfect backdrop on this day to capture the holiday spirit amongst droolworthy shops.

I have recently had a love affair with robe style coats and jackets and their ability to elevate an outfit without looking like you tried too hard. This silk midnight blue robe by L’Academie (now on sale) is adorned with embroidered flowers and makes a nod to the kimono style but with a modern aesthetic. It is so versatile and can be easily dressed down with a body some boyfriend jeans and a pair of Stan Smith’s. Equally you can take it to the next level and pair with a ribbed knit or bodycon dress for a more evening appropriate look. In this case I paired it with a gold lurex dress by Topshop, a skinny belt by Club Monaco, stiletto sandals and blue Suvimol python bag. Voila! Off to party we go.
