TULUM WARDROBE CONTINUED

Tulum had been on my radar for quite sometime and I was beyond thrilled when I finally got the opportunity to go. I must say I was a little nervous at first about the "eco-chic" aspect it is known for as I definitely like my creature comforts, but now that I look back, it's what makes it enchanting. Spending the last week with 25 other people in a gorgeous beachside villa has been the adventure of a lifetime and during my time exploring Tulum I was able to compile a list of all my favorite spots as well as the second part to my holiday wardrobe which I would like to share with you below....

Where to stay: For an experience that will literally have you in the middle of nature, Hotel Azulik is the place to stay. The first thing that catches your eye when you walk in is the impeccable attention to detail through the rustic decor, the presence of water everywhere (it is right next to a cenote), and the the structure which is made out of sticks giving it a tribal vibe. This adults only hotel strives to be as eco friendly as possible by not having electricity making it the perfect destination to disconnect from the cyber world.

Where to eat: The Nomade Hotel has the Macondo restaurant which specializes in serving holistic food. They use locally farmed ingredients that add antioxidants and medicinal properties to every plate. Their 20 meter family style table which was made from one single large tree trunk makes it a great social setting. For dinner with a fun disco/lounge feel, Gitano is the place to be. Have one of their modern Mexican plates under twinkly lighted trees, then for drinks head over to one of their comfortable couches under the disco ball.

What to do: It is no secret that one of the main attractions in Tulum are the Mayan Ruins, so make sure to keep this historical sight at the top of your list. For a bit of an adrenaline rush and a cultural trip,  try zip lining in this majestic jungle nearby and taking a dip in the clear lagoons. If you're like me, you'll probably want to just relax and take in all the beauty, which is a must while in Tulum. Although all the beaches are impressive, if you want more remote/relaxed vibes,  white sand, and arched palm trees the best would be Paradiso beach.

Where to shop: You can never go wrong with some shopping on the strip as there is a wide variety of unique items you can buy as souvenirs. If you are looking for beautiful, high-end, jungle inspired jewelry then De La Rosa Tulum is the place to go. For beautifully designed clothing, Josa Tulum is a famous shop where they repurpose older garments into cool kaftan pieces. Looking for  the best smelling candles to take back home for your friends as a gift? Then look no further than Coqui Coqui
