Tea Time is Anytime

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you know I’ve embarked on a summer trip around Europe. My first stop? Home. It felt so good to be back in London after months of not seeing my friends and family, and naturally, afternoon tea with girlfriends was at the top of my to-do list.

No trip to England is complete without tea time, whether you plan one yourself, or book to visit a teahouse, it is necessary. Afternoon tea in England dates back to the 1840s, and has remained a popular tradition through-out the country. The core of afternoon tea includes a choice of tea, small cakes, scones, finger sandwiches, and of course, friends. No visit of mine is ever completed without afternoon tea, so this time around, I decided to visit the Peggy Porschen bakery, which has been mentioned in Vanity Fair as having “the best cupcakes in the world.” The bakery is adorned in fresh pink flowers growing all around it, the store itself as a pale pink flush all around, and the entire place just exudes femininity.

The bakery was founded in 2003 by award-winning cake designer Peggy Porschen, who now has a team of extremely talented pastry chefs to assist her in making scrumptious treats. She was passionate about creating edible works of arts, and even began to offer her own blend of teas to compliment the flavors of her cakes. Anna and I met up for afternoon tea, we both got a cup of tea, and couldn’t resist grabbing an additional treat for us to share. If you’re keeping count, that’s two girls, two cups of tea, and 3 pieces of extremely cute and delicious treats. The entire bakery and experience was so cute, and the staff were lovely as well.

Naturally, I wanted to match with the cutest bakery on the block, so I wore this dreamy pink gingham dress from New York based brand, Petersyn. I'm completely obsessed with the brand and their "preppy chic" look. Gingham is the trendiest print for the summer, and I really enjoyed this dress since it featured a pink color instead of the usual black and white. The dress featured a classic A line silhouette, midi length as well as spaghetti straps to help me stay breezy. If you remember just a few weeks ago, I posted a blog post where I wore an off the shoulder ruffled gingham top. Funny enough, that post also featured some delicious ice-cream treats. Gingham and dessert, I’m calling it a trend. I finished off the summery look with some white sandals from Kenneth Cole, and a crisp little cross body from Furla.

It is so good to be back in London, seeing friends and family and enjoying some fun afternoon tea time has been a great way to start off my summer. If you’re ever England, definitely make some time to have afternoon tea, it will be one of the best experiences you’ll have.
