Fashion Freeze in NY (Part 1)

These last 2 months have been nonstop travel for me and the destination to culminate this whirlwind of a time was New York Fashion Week. In the weeks leading up to this trip I was ecstatic yet nervous because I know just how brutal and unpredictable the weather in New York can be around this time of year. I made sure to pack my warmest outfits and prepared for the worst case scenario. The day I landed was a beautiful sunny day (strange for NY in the Winter), and I was thankful as I had a full day of meetings and fittings. Of course this didn't last for long and the next day we were welcomed with intense arctic conditions. But as they say, the show must go on, and we all braved the mighty blizzard in support of the designers showing that day (see pic above for my snowday outift).  My plan of execution was to put together some incredible outfits and just smile on the inside for what were some of coldest photo shoot conditions I've ever had to endure.

This season I stayed at the Innside NoMad Hotel and I am so glad I did. This hotel located in the coveted Chelsea neighborhood opened less than a year ago and is already getting buzz for being an incredible place to stay. The staff was beyond helpful and they even did everything in their power to upgrade me to a suite since I had so much stuff and needed the extra space.  The first thing that struck me was the astonishing view from my room. If you have been following along on my Instagram you will see just how obsessed I was with this view, so much so that it will be one of the things I miss the most.

Every New York Fashion Week it seems like there is absolutely no time for a social life. I tried to make it more of a priority this time around by making time for brunch between shows and made sure to document it along the way.  Bocaphe is a cute French-Vietnamese inspired restaurant with quirky decor. This cozy cafe was the perfect spot in Soho to unwind between the fashion show madness and enjoy some delicious food with my photographer friend Anna. Also my bestie Ashley was someone that I absolutely had to take the time to meet up with since she is now living in New York and I have to admit I miss having her as a roommate. We went to Miss Paradis  which also happens to be in Soho for a late lunch and we absolutely loved it! They serve California inspired dishes that are very light and not to mention delicious. If you're looking for some trendy eats in the city, these are definitely the spots!
