Simply put, this blog is about passion. My deepest passions happen to lie in fashion, interior design and travel, and this blog is my drawing board.

The Desert is Calling

The Desert is Calling

All year long I have been expressing my desire of hitting the road and taking some time to immerse myself in mother nature, what better place to do this than Joshua Tree?  Joshua tree is the grooviest high-desert town amongst a bunch of eclectic towns in the middle of the vast wilderness. Constantly going from city to city can take a toll on you and it was surely time for some mental detoxing. As I was looking through my schedule I finally set the date a few days before Thanksgiving for this long awaited adventure and got to planning what would be the most epic trip ever with my beloved team.

As we were approaching our destination, I was overwhelmed with emotion as the  magic in the air was palpable and the pink cotton candy skies were ineffable. After a 3 hour drive we finally made it the PioneerTown Motel where we stayed the duration of our trip. Like a scene from a wild west movie, the rustic charm exterior with its gravel and fallen cactus needles make you feel like you've left civilization as you know it and traveled back in time.

My team and I set out to do an editorial shoot, working with some incredible brands and styling them in a glam meets desert tone. For this first look I sported the Lovers and Friends  Golden Ray maxi dress in rose print and a pair of Raye Matty heels in black, both from RevolveSince the weather was extra chilly during the shoot, my Noisy May USA shearling style jacket was perfect to bring this whole look together. I'd be lying if I didn't say that I felt like a total rockstar strutting my stuff in the middle of the desert wearing this getup. Stay tuned for more incredible Joshua Tree looks to come!
