Corduroy Curiosity

Corduroy Curiosity

Allover Instagram it’s hard not to come across the trending prints of the season. Your fave influencer is most likely rocking just about anything that is a snakeskin or leopard print right? Well, if you keep scrolling through you’ll begin to notice there is another autumn essential on the rise and that is corduroy. Yes, you read that correctly corduroy has revamped its image as both functional and fashion forward. This seventies flash back has had its fair share of ups and downs when it comes to the fashion recycle, but today this Fall trend has become a comfort classic.

These pieces are practical, durable, and comfortable. Corduroy is a triple threat that continues to get better and softer with longer wear due to its unique no-tear fibers and ribbed fabric structure. Dress it up or dress is down, cords come in varied designs and styles that can suit just about any occasion.

Long gone is the Corduroy’s notorious boxy fit restricted to earth tones that your mom would force you to wear for school. Best way to ease into the trend is to start with a blazer or jacket. Outerwear is key here so an oversized rustic brown cord jacket or an olive green 2-button blazer would do. If you are looking for more vibrancy, a rose red jacket or a pink double-breasted blazer is visually stunning. My suggestions for bottoms range: a burgundy wrap-front mini skirt, a wine high-waist front button skirt, green straight-leg pants and a pair of garnet red Hepburn Corduroy pants. Once venturing out of your style comfort zone, I suggest a rust cord jumpsuit, a blush sleeveless V-neck zip front mini dress, a cord overall dress or a Chandler dress.

Now you can avenge that Corduroy zealous junior high school picture.
