Mykonos Summer Wardrobe

Welcome to Mykonos, otherwise known as the “Island of The Winds.” This is my tenth time visiting this beautiful island, and still it continues to surprise me with new experiences. This Greek paradise is a well-known tourist destination. With so much beauty and history surrounding every corner, this stop was a no-brainer on my summer vacation.

If you’ve ever watched Hercules (obvi the Disney movie musical), then you’d recognize Mykonos as the location where Hercules lured in the Giants and slayed them. The island was also named after the son of the God Apollo, a local hero in Greece. Over the years, Mykonos has become a modern luxury destination for many tourists, yet the island still maintains its deeply rooted culture, which is reflected in the architecture, people, and cuisine.

Like I said, this is my 10th year visiting Mykonos, and every visit has been different from the last. My days consisted of sandy beaches and delicious lunches at Spilia. This spot offers the best seafood options and a relaxing atmosphere right by the ocean. This year I wanted to treat myself and decided to extend my trip a bit longer to stay at Castle Panigirakis aka a traditional Greek windmill just above the old town. The location was absolutely breathtaking and staying at the three level windmill a completely unique and quirky experience. It was so serene with only the sounds of the Aegean Sea and scents of wildflowers, I was in awe. The castle sits atop a hill and there you can find the 180 Degrees Sunset Bar, which offers the most incredible view of Mykonos's stunning sunsets as well as spins the best lounge tunes. The hike up to Castle Panigirakis wasn’t a breezy one, but with the beautiful surrounding—it was all worth it.

Of course my wardrobe in Greece consisted of fun summery dresses and easy silhouettes.  I wore sandals with the majority of my outfits, since I did not want to compromise my comfort while walking around. I accessorized with sunnies and hats to keep myself protected from the sun, and some light jewelry to pull my outfits together.  Mykonos will always have my heart, and I’m so happy I was able to spend another wonderful summer here.
